Edit the SMTP Configuration File¶

Open the configuration file using a text editor such as TPU:

$ EDIT/TPU TCPIP$SMTP_COMMON:TCPIP$SMTP.CONF

Locate the "Substitute-Domain" parameter and set the parameter to the desired domain name, for example:

Substitute-Domain             : OPENVMS.COM

After this change, the values displayed in outgoing email headers resemble the following format: user@openvms.com.
