Verify the host key type¶

TCPIP 5.7 uses a DSA host key by default. Modern OpenSSH versions often disable or remove support for DSA (ssh-dss) because it has been deprecated in favor of RSA, ECDSA, and EdDSA.

To verify the host key type on the OpenVMS server:

$ SEARCH SYS$SYSDEVICE:[TCPIP$SSH.SSH2]HOSTKEY. COMMENT
Comment: "2048-bit dsa, system@hostname, Fri Oct 11"
